Coptic is one of the earliest book forms and can be as simple or as fancy as you want to make it. This structure in particular makes a fabulous sketch book. This class is perfect for beginners or intermediate students who want to ease into some basic woodworking by hand. No prior training is necessary as we will go over any questions you have and have a brief overview of how structure affects bookbinding. Be prepared to do some hand sanding.

Jessica Crane has been bookbinding for 7 years and has a degree in conservation from West Dean College. She owns and operates her own bookbinding studio and routinely sells her work at venues around the country. She loves incorporating woodworking into her books and playing with functionality and structure.
