ExpiredPaper Marbling

marbling1Join us for an exploration into marbling! We will learn various marbling techniques and learn how to create traditional and contemporary designs on paper. The history of marbling will be discussed as well as the many different types of size used to create these one of a kind prints. Be prepared to get your hands dirty and your paper marbled in the first part of class. After our paper dries we will use it to create a book.

Holly Zeiner graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BFA in Advertising/Graphic Design and minors in Business Administration and Art History. After college she lived and taught art in Germany for two years before moving back to Texas to pursue a masters in printmaking. As life goes, plans change. Holly moved to Austin in 1993 and began working in graphic design and public relations. Nowadays Holly works full time as a calligrapher and website designer. She took her first calligraphy class at the age of 13 and has loved it ever since. Currently, Holly is a member and past president of Capital City Scribes, Austin’s calligraphy guild and regularly participates in guild exhibits. She has taught marbling classes for CCS several times and has used the process and results in numerous art projects, on fabric, and even wood. Holly is married and has four children, two cats and a dog. She is also extremely proud to be a seventh generation Texan.
