The journal is the perfect tool for creating and capturing important memories! Bind your very own high-quality, adventure-ready daily journal, with a personal touch. The book you create in this workshop will be wrapped in soft leather and hand-stitched, ensuring you go home with a beautiful personalized journal that will last forever.

This workshop requires a kit that will be mailed to registered students. Registration will end on Tuesday, July 7th at 12 noon, so that kits may be received by July 14.

Lena Rogy loves teaching and is passionate about working with her hands to produce highly detailed functional art. After she graduated from Folkwang University (Germany) with a degree in Communication Design, she moved to Austin where she has been working with Fortuna Monsoon creating handcrafted leather gear.

 

*Registered students will receive a link to the Zoom meeting in the confirmation email. Students will also receive detailed instructions on how best to participate via Zoom, helpful if one is unfamiliar with the platform.

In addition to a tablet or computer with a reliable Internet connection and a well-lit space in which to work, students will need to provide the following:

[1] Sharp pencil with eraser
[2] Metal ruler or straight edge, 12” minimum length
[3] Self-healing cutting mat or several layers of cardboard to protect table surface
[4] Glue brush
[5] PVA or other suitable white craft adhesive, like “school glue”
[6] Bone folder or back of spoon for creasing
[7] Scalpel or x-acto knife
[8] Waste paper for gluing out. Newspaper or junk mail will work.
[9] Optional: Decorative paper to incorporate into your journal as endpapers (2 sheets ca. 8.5” x 6”).
