Cyanotypes & Cider:

Join Allison sipping cider while we explore the magic of cyanotype printing! Cyanotype is one of the earliest forms of photography where we use an opaque object or large format negative, place on top of a piece of light sensitive cyanotype paper, expose to uv light and voila we make alternative photographic monotype prints!

Allison will pre-coat and brush all paper in advance so that we can connect with the tactical quality of the historic cyanotype process. No experience needed!

This event is part of a monthly collaboration with Allison Lash and Awesome Art! Scheduled on a Friday evening, participants are invited to a Happy Hour style event, complete with fun and experimentation with a book arts technique, along with beverages and snacks! This series is perfect for a date night, gals night, or just a casual social interaction. Wind down with us and get those creative energies flowing!

Date & Time: Friday, May 22nd, 6pm-9pm
Max. no of students: 8
Cost: $75 tuition + $25 materials fee

Hi, I’m Allison (she/her)—an artist, educator, and mom who’s passionate about creating hands-on opportunities for people of all ages to explore the visual arts.
I’m a First Generation College Graduate and earned my Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in New Jersey. After completing my graduate studies, I taught photography (darkroom, digital and alternative processes) as an adjunct instructor at several colleges and trained in the Reggio Emilia approach with Studio In A School and Pratt Institute before becoming a public school art educator in NYC.

In 2015, after moving to Austin, Texas, I founded Awesome Art!—an after-school program designed to spark creativity and confidence in young artists. What began as a local initiative has since grown into a multi-generational arts program serving communities in and beyond Austin.  I design and lead inclusive, hands-on art workshops for people of all ages while creating welcoming and accessible visual arts experiences that foster creativity, connection, and community.

I oversee all aspects of program development, including logistics, budgeting, client and vendor relations. I partner with schools, libraries, museums, non-profits, and local government agencies to expand access to arts programming and ensure that everyone—regardless of age, background, or ability—can engage in the healing health benefits of making art.
