Have you ever dreamed of starting your own zine? Publishing a cookbook or chapbook? How about that novel you’ve been working on? Want to get political? We got you covered with practical approaches to making comics, t-shirts, rock posters, you name it. Bring your hopes and dreams, trials and tribulations, and we’ll help you publish the book you want to read with an eye towards ecological and financial stability.

  • Early registration is encouraged.
  • This workshop is designed for adults. Older teenagers, age 16-17, may also register. For information on resources for younger children, please click here.
  • Registered students will receive a link to the Zoom meeting in the confirmation email. Students will also receive detailed instructions on how best to participate via Zoom, helpful if one is unfamiliar with the platform.
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Kyle Schlesinger is a poet who writes and lectures on typography and artists’ books. Schlesinger’s recent books of poetry include Parts of Speech (Chax Press, 2014), The Do How w/ James Yeary (Great Fainting Spells, 2013), and Picture Day (Electio Editions, 2012). Scholarly works include Letterpress Revolution (Ugly Ducking Presse, 2016) Threads w/ Steve Clay (Granary Books, 2015), Poems & Pictures: A Renaissance in the Art of the Book (Center for Book Arts, 2010). He is proprietor of Cuneiform Press and Associate Professor of Publishing at UHV.
