ExpiredIntro to Letterpress: Printing from Photopolymer Plates (Session 2)

polymer_kochDive into the world of digital letterpress by learning the basics of printing from photopolymer plates. At the first class meeting, students will learn how to set up files and order plates. At the second meeting, students will learn the fundamentals of proper presswork including registration, inking, and impression using the Vandercook proof presses. Students can expect to complete a small edition of a project such as business cards or greeting cards.

Level: This class is appropriate for students at all levels.
Dates and times: Tuesday, December 6 (6-9pm) & Saturday, December 17 (10am-4pm)

Cost: $135 tuition + $40 materials fee

MAX HOYT KOCH is the only child of a bookbinder and a letterpress printer. He was raised in a print shop and has printed his whole life. He knows little else. Max took a brief break from printing to get a BA in art with a minor in geography. He now works for two different print shops, as well as running his own.
