Over the course of this two-day workshop you will produce 1-2 finished tintypes and a complete a photo case to house the images. On day one of the workshop you will work hands-on with the chemicals and equipment to create a Wet Plate Collodion (Tintype) photograph. Tintypes are sensitive to primarily UV light so portraits and still life will be the primary focus. Students are encouraged to bring items for still life images and/or props for portraiture. If you have a large format camera (4×5, 8×10, etc) please bring it with you to the class. On the second day you will create folio cases that can house and display the tintypes.
