ExpiredBookbinding for Artists

Create two “Gallery” book structures to display your art and a canvas-covered sketchbook featuring your acrylic painting or collage in this bookbinding class especially for artists.

The first structure, a Flag Book, will display six 7” x 2.5” drawings or paintings and open up with flaps. Bring your prepared art, sized to 7” x 2.5” to install, or use watercolor paper provided.

The second book structure is a watercolor paper accordion in a case binding that can be displayed as a star, or stretched out on a long surface for display.

For the canvas-covered sketchbook, bring an 11” x 7” painting on canvas, if you wish, or use the blank primed canvas provided to paint on later. Pages of watercolor and/or drawing paper will be long-stitched inside the canvas.

Linda now is a retired art teacher and educator, but continues to lead book-arts classes for children and adults at the Austin Book Arts Center. Her art and book art has been exhibited in Texas and Utah.
