Botanical Specimen Press

THIS WORKSHOP WILL MEET IN-PERSON AT THE AUSTIN BOOK ARTS CENTER.

Been feeling cooped up? Spring is a beautiful time to get outside and explore the great outdoors. Take your family on a hike, or go solo, and learn about the plants around you, while gaining some basic bookbinding skills. In this workshop, you will learn how to construct this botanical press, perfect for the “field”. In addition, students will learn proper methods to collect, press, and identify botanical specimens.

Level: This class is appropriate for adult students at all skill levels.
Date & Time: Thursdays, April 25th & May 2nd, 6-9pm

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Lena Rogy loves teaching and is passionate about working with her hands to produce highly detailed functional art. After she graduated from Folkwang University (Germany) with a degree in Communication Design, she moved to Austin where she has been working with Fortuna Monsoon creating handcrafted leather gear.
