Make a Book, Open Happiness
Since the Austin Book Arts Center opened its doors to all book lovers in Austin and central Texas in 2015, ABAC has:
- Offered hundreds of workshops in letterpress printing, bookbinding, paper arts, book history and design, and various arts of the book.
- Developed children’s programming in the arts of the book, including a Summer Bookmaking Camp and dual language K-12 resources.
- Provided access to tools and equipment through the Open Studio program.
All of this with an all-volunteer staff! Income from workshops only partially covers overhead and payments to instructors. As a nonprofit organization, we rely on charitable giving to bridge the gap.
We know there are many worthy causes for end-of-the-year giving.
